Expansion Inlet Manifold
"Porsche has extracted more performance and efficiency from the 911 Turbo's six-cylinder engine by turning traditional turbocharging on its head with the introduction of what the company calls an 'expansion' inlet manifold.
Conventional turbochargers feed compressed hot air into the cylinders to achieve improved engine performance, but the GT2's twin turbos instead distribute colder, expanding air into the combustion chambers."
Sounds interesting...

Re: Expansion Inlet Manifold
Well that's just logical, doesn't an intercooler do that anyways?

Re: Expansion Inlet Manifold
an intercooler doesn't compress the air, just cools it. Standards turbos do compress the air to a point, but this sounds like porche are intentionally compressing the air a larger amount than normal.
