i recon a minimum of 4g, 0 is best if can afford it but not nessasary and most kits are similar...they are all quite good.but im no pro but 4g i found was easiest to work through the car as it isnt too thick.

it is dependant on how much power you will be running through your audio system. 0 gauge cable is thick enough to run your household electrical appliances off all at the one time!!! post up what amps your looking to use and how much power they run so we can give suggestions as to the correct/safe gauge cable to use.
